Two of the characters that sailed the Golden Eagle were on holiday from Australia. Not wanting to leave them 'washed up' I followed them out to Australia where two followed them for a holiday in Western Australia.

The West Australian boy grew up and became a missionary aviator. After a plane crash in the jungle he thinks back over his life and recalls the good and the bad. He remembers his part in the wrecking of the boat but most of all her remembers their Australian adventures from Perth to Albany in a setting of contrasting musical events, an accentric aunt, a pop star, a shady chauffeur and a run-in with the police. It makes drug taking the concern of maturing young adults with Christian ethics and Biblical values.

Book Review

In the Secret Cottage, Barbara Good writes about a crew of four. (Yes, they have been sailing off the Scilly Isles) plus the indefatigable Benson, resolving to remove a very young pop idol from the labyrinth of drugs and the clutches of ice-users and dealers. The crew's wily strategies succeed eventually and the underlying message of the Secret Rainbow is unconditional love.

This may well engage the reader of the Secret Rainbow from the formative years to the well-read. Detail of description of scenery and a case for more engaging dialogue could well be made in order to further enhance the contents of the book. A worthwhile read.
